Adding font component beginner question)

I’m using Glyphs mini, and I’m trying to add previously created glyphs as a component of a newly created glyph using the add component feature. Sometimes this works great, other times it won’t add the new component on top of the previously chosen one, but puts it alongside, and I can’t seem to move it over to be on top.

You likely have auto-alignment enabled (this takes the spacing metrics from the components and places then side-by-side).

Try right-clicking each component and look for “disable auto-alignment” in the pop-up menu.

If that was the issue they should move freely again.
