Hi everyone,

I’m working on a Variable font — one G4 file for the Upright and the other G4 file for Italic.

It would be really handy if I could just copy the instances from the Upright Font Info to Italic and the “Italic” just gets inserted automatically to the _Style Name_. And _Style Linking_ could also be set automatically with the same command. 😁

It is cumbersome to set 45 instances for the Upright and than to do it all over again for the Italic.

Adding a but to the instance name is easy with a script.

OK, I did not realize that I can just copy/paste instances from the Upright to Italic, I was expecting an _Import_ button. Adding “Italic” is quick and easy after pasting. The only thing that did not get translated were the External Coordinates — copy should include that info also.

I fixed the external coordinates.

how do you think that would be triggered. What is an “Italic” font?

Right here in Font Info \> Exports, it could say something like “Copy Instances from Upright and append Italic”.
