Adding italic to variable font

Hi

I’ve created a variable font with two masters: Black and Light.
Now I’d like to add an italic version.

Is there any easy way to do it?
I have tried adding an extra axes Italic but that doesn’t work.

PS: I will not completely redesign the italic version, I would just like to slant my regular version by 9°.

You need the second axis, and to assign axis positions in a rectangular setup. IOW you duplicate the two masters you already have, keep their wght values, and assign the same ital value to both of them.

Instead of ital, consider slnt.

Thanks, I assigned the same ital value to the two duplicates, but nothing happens.

Not adding a second Axis parameter, add another axis to the first entry.
