I am new to Glyphs. When opening my OpenType-SVG Color font in Glyphs, I don’t know how to get it to keep and show the color shading that already exists in my font. I have tried opening the OTF file, copy and paste from the illustrator file, and also importing the SVG images. Opening the font just shows the solid black version of the characters without shading or color and in the other cases, I just see the vector outlines with no color fill and shading.
I bought this software to add automatic Contextual Alternates to my font.
Can Glyphs do this for me? If so, can I get help to make it work?
It should import the .svg into an extra layer called “svg” (you find it in the layer panel on the right). Those should export again. But the positioning of svg in OT fonts is a bit tricky. And it might be that after re-exporting, the svg shapes are positioned a bit too heigh. Could you send me the .otf font from FontSelf that I can check the round tripping?
