I have a haphazard way of bringing hand-drawn glyphs into Glyphs Mini from Illustrator - I just copy paste into each glyph and manually resize to the same sizes. I’m planning on having multiple styles in my font that I will have to go back into Illustrator to create using the original vectors. My question is - how can I do this and place them back in with the same size, positioning and kerning, just with different styles? Thank you!
In Glyphs Mini, you can have one style per file. So best practice would be to:
- finish one font style,
- duplicate the file in Finder,
- change the style name in the new file,
- and replace the existing drawings one by one the way you did it before.
BTW if you always scale by the same amount, you could set up an Illustrator action, and already paste it in the right scale. See the tutorials.
