AI + Glyphs MCP v1.0.8 — looking for testers + new macOS installer app (signed & notarized)

Tested with Claude Desktop app: works like a charm. Currently testing with OpenCode. I can confirm it works with OpenCode as well.
Thanks for the idea and the repo, this will save me huge time working with scripts an kerning on upcoming projects ^^

Hi,

Thanks a lot for reporting this — really appreciate it.

I’ll fix the links right away and update the release as soon as possible.

Thanks as well for using the manual install in the meantime.

I’m also planning to organize a short online workshop to share what we’ve learned so far and some best practices around it. Would you be interested in joining (and maybe co-hosting or to do a talk)? I’ll reach out to the other contributors as well — everyone is welcome. I’ll share a few date options soon.

Best,

Thierry

Would be my pleasure.
May be I’ll be contributing to improve the kerning bumper to handle arabic letters as the MCP defaults to Andre Fuchs pair-frequency dataset for now.

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes, definitely — that would be my pleasure. Improving the kerning bumper so it can better handle Arabic letters would be a very valuable contribution.

What would be the best way for you to proceed?

You can submit the changes directly on GitHub with a PR, or send them to me by email with the instructions I need to apply and test them.

Thanks again for offering to help.

T.

By the way, after your message I spent some time trying to understand Arabic kerning and spacing. I have to say, it’s a fascinating topic. I quickly discovered that it’s much more complex than I initially imagined, especially when looking at contextual forms, joining behavior, and the different spacing considerations compared to Latin scripts.

Since Arabic typography is a completely new field for me, there is a lot for me to learn. I attached a screenshot of some of my explorations and the limitations I encountered with the current kerning bumper dataset, which is very Latin-centric.

I’m looking forward to learning more about it, and with your help I’d be more than happy to improve the script and make Arabic support more robust.
