App stuck in disabled mode

I’ve been having an issue today ever since one script crashed where ever so often the entire app is stuck in “disabled” mode.

I can’t quit the app (except force quitting), clicking the start screen or any possibly restored open font I just get the “not allowed” sound and no clicks registered.

The first time this happened after I ran a script (iterating over all glyphs or some such) today that somehow crashed; ever since the restart of the app I keep having this issue.

Force quitting and restarting the app does not remove this. A computer restart does. At least once I got to restart the app in a responding mode again by deleting the tmp autosave file of a file that was open. But now again in the screenshot, no file is open and I am still in this state.

What cursor do you see when using the app? Is is the default arrowhead pointer or the spinning beach ball?

Could you try launching Glyphs with plugins disabled: hold down Option and Shift when launching the app. Does that change anything?

Cursor was the default cursor. I’ll try the Option Shift launch the next time it gets stuck, thanks!

That looks like there is dialog box somewhere that is blocking the UI.

Any Plugins that are in their trial period? Some of mine occasionally open a Sheet (which by its nature blocks the UI). It could be that this sheet happened to attach itself to an unexpected window somewhere in the background?
Can you use the trackpad gesture to open that Mission Control thingy where one sees all windows of the current app?

That’s what I thought, but one time it happened I closed all other apps and “zoomed out” to show all open windows and nothing visible.

Imo the crash from script and trying to open the “Send error report” could be pointing in that direction, just that the dialog never showed up after the app restart.
