Background Colour

Hi everyone,

I was just wondering if there is a shortcut to change the background colour quickly. I think it’s insane and bad for your eyes to be working for many hours with a white background. I could manage to change it and use black as a BG colour, but obviously, this changes the way I perceive the letter-shapes. Does anyone know if there is a way to assign a short cut to swap the background without going to preferences?

Thank you!

You can put this in a script and assign a shortcut to it:

from AppKit import NSArchiver, NSColor
data = NSArchiver.archivedDataWithRootObject_(NSColor.colorWithDeviceRed_green_blue_alpha_(1, 0.5, 0, 1))
Glyphs.defaults["GSColorBackground"] = data

and to get rid of it:

del(Glyphs.defaults["GSColorBackground"])

Thanks, George, I didn’t see your reply till now :sweat_smile: I’m going to give it a try. The temporary solution in the meantime has been to use a soft grey bg, which helps my eyes and doesn’t affect the letter-shape perception.
