Best practice glyph naming for more than 20 stylistic alts?

I’m working on a font where some characters have more than 20 stylistic alternatives. I’d like these to be selectable through PUA selection in Indesign. They don’t really adhere to any strict sets, so I’m inclined to not use stylistic sets for this. As far as I understand the maximum number is 2o anyway.

What is the best thing to do in this situation and how should I name these alternative glyphs? Does Glyphs have any kind of automatic feature generation in this situation or should I do this manually? Thanks.

You can use character-variants. (.cv01, .cv02, …). These go up to 99.

Thanks, that’s very helpful. I will look into this.
