Cannot access background

3.2.3 (3260)

I have this odd issue in one file that I cannot access or ‘enter’ the background. Whether I press the shortcut or use the command via the menu, I can’t get into the background layer. I can see it and hide it, I can paste outlines to it via CMD+J, but I can’t get there.

Any hints?

Try the latest beta please. Go to Glyphs > Preferences > Updates, activate both checkboxes and press the Update button.

I vaguely remember this issue. Would appear under certain circumstances, I think it is fixed in the 3.3 betas. What are your settings in Font Info > Other?

Hi Rainer, thanks for your help. These are the settings:

The current cutting edge version does not seem to fix it

Hmm, cannot reproduce. I was suspecting there was file format 2 but that’s also not the case.

Does it happen in a new file as well? Or is it limited to certain files?

It’s only in a specific file. I’ll send it to you.

Can you make a new tab?

Oh my, yes! I can make a new tab and access the background there! Go figure.
Thank you!

This is very odd. It seems to be related to the OT features. When I activate the calt for the preview, I can no longer access the background, when I deactivate it, it works again.

Can you send me the .glyphs file with that tab open?

just sent it to support, thanks!
