Are you using the same components in the same order throughout all masters? Try Filter > Fix Compatibility. Are your sets of anchors compatible too?

Is there a bracket layer in the ‘a’?

Is it compatible? If it doesn’t show a warning, does it warn, if you make it incompatible (add a node)?
