Cap components are driving me crazy

Hello, I need your help with an issue related to Cap Components. I would like to use this feature on the stems of my typeface, but it seems that something is not working correctly.

When I select the two nodes of the stem and add the component from the contextual menu “Add Cap Component”, the component appears completely misaligned and far from its reference position.

I have followed the explanation in the Glyphs Handbook step by step and tried everything I could think of: generating a component from a selection, creating the component from the Font window, checking the path directions, changing the component spacing, aligning the component to the x-height and the baseline, creating a new .glyphs file, etc. But nothing seems to work.

I am attaching a video showing my component setup and what happens when I place it on the stem. For reference, I am using Glyphs 3.5 (3517) on a MacBook Pro running macOS Tahoe 26.3.1.

Thank you in advance for your attention.

Have you tried using the names node1 and node2?

My God… I feel very stupid right now. Thanks for your help, the component is now working correctly. Indeed, the issue was that the anchor points needed to be named “node1” and “node2”. Once I renamed them, everything worked as expected.

My fault! I’m new in Glyphs and still learning. Thanks again for your help!
