Cleaning nodes in a straigh path

Hello, is any script around to remove all the paths in the middle of straigh lines like the image attached? Any help is apreciated.

I assume the points got around to the grid, and are just a little bit above the threshold for being considered in line with the others and hence for removing them by tidying up.
