Hello,
I see that there was a question about this in 2013, but nothing since, and the resources linked in that response are no longer available.
I’ve got a customer using a font of mine on a website and he wants to turn OFF contextual alternates, which he says appear to be “on” by default.
I can’t find any resources on this. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Julie
Take a look at the CSS property font-feature-settings
. It should allow the contextual alternates feature calt
to be turned off. Some info is here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/font-feature-settings
Contextual alternates are often on by default in most applications. It’s possible that some browsers might not allow turning it off, but I haven’t looked at that detail in a while; perhaps those were fixed.
