Copy and paste from illustrator not working

Hello,

I’ve been having problems pasting letters and punctuation from Illustrator into Glyphs.

I had no problems before but for some reason when I try to paste a vector from Illustrator to Glyphs lines of code end up being pasted rather than the vector. No warning windows pop up when I paste.

Has anyone else had this issue/does anyone know how to solve it?

For example I tried copying a simple circle for the “.” mark and what pastes into Glyphs is code rather than a vector circle.

Make sure your Edit tool is active. I assume you have read this:

Thanks for the quick response! I have read that page.

I’m new to using Glyphs so I’m actually not sure how make sure the “Edit Tool” is active.

I tried to open a new file and paste a couple letters and it works fine. I’m not sure why pasting into my existing file, where all of my letters are, isn’t working.

It depends where you post. If the Text tool (T) is active, you will paste text. If the Edit tool (V) is active, you will paste the graphic.
