Hello,
I’ve been using corner components since some time on my workflow, but due to some bugs or unexpected result I never left them on the process till export final files.
Actually I would like to understand how Glyphs deals with them at export time:
1: interpolates component; 2: decompose component ; 3: remove overlap (4:+ any other filter I might want to use)?
This is the output of two interpolated Vs exported with the corner component on and with the exact same corner components manually decomposed before export (Foreground vs Background).
(It seems to be possible to see differences on the preview panel)
In my opinion this is a big difference between outputs and not just a 1 unit difference from a rounding problem. I’m not saying one method is better than other, but it seems to exist some kind of guessing involved when exporting complex multi-axis fonts with corner components.
Can we trust 100% on the preview panel?
How stable is to export with corner component at the moment?
