Correctly rename a modified font

Hi all

I was experimenting with FontForge and encountered the following issue:
I copied Arial Narrow true type font from the Windows Fonts on a local drive and modified the font using fontforge. I only modified some metrics to reduce the spacing between lines. I gave a totally new font name, family name and display name (in PS Names), generated a new true type font and installed it. Although I gave a new name totally different than Arial, my font still appears in the Arial Family as “Arial Narrow”. I want my font to be saved and displayed with the new Name and outside of the Arial Family. Do I need to change any other properties?

I’m totally new to FontForge and I would appreciate your hints :slight_smile:
