Did you add that glyph just while the file was open?
Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean.
Does this happen for glyphs that where in the file when you opened it or only to new glyphs (that where added in the current session)?
Only glyphs that were added in the current session.
The adding of glyphs is recorded on the Font undo. If you then later hit Cmd+U without a selected glyph, it triggers that font undo and removes the glyph. I just realized a detail and will have a look at the implementation if I can avoid it.
Eh? Why would Set anchors trigger the Font undo and remove the glyph? Is there some context where the user would expect that to happen?
I think he meant to write Cmd-Z.
Oh, I forgot to consider that Georg is German and probably using an QWERTZ keyboard layout, where U and Z are next to each other!
Almost! AZERTY is French, German is QWERTZ ![]()
Brainfart – yes, QWERTZ, of course (U and Z aren’t even next to each other on AZERTY)!
This was just a typo. Probably written on the iPhone where Z and U are next to each other.
So if it’s recorded in the Font undo, and ⌘Z (Undo) removes it, shouldn’t ⌘⇧Z (Redo) get it back? If I’m understanding Magnus’ post correctly, that doesn’t happen.
It’s not only when you have no selected glyph. It happens when you have the glyph in question open and hit Undo one too many times.
I have had a look at it and it should be fixed now. Thanks for the complaints ![]()
Hi,
I have had several issues with glyphs disappearing. I though I maybe removed the glyph by hitting ⌘+← in the editor window, but I never saw any prompt warning me about removing the glyph.
I am now wondering if it’s some kind of undo-thing, but it seems weird to undoing a glyph I created several days ago (and which I designed on four masters).
It has happened before and don’t want it to happen again. I’ve lost the ℗ character twice now and I am very tired of having to design it a third time.
Version 3.2.3 (3260)
Have you saved, closed and reopened the file after adding the glyph?
Note that the issues described in this thread were reportedly fixed in the latest beta. Activate it by checking “Show cutting edge versions” in your Updates preferences.
I saved the file, but I didn’t close/reopen the document. I didn’t know I should save and close/reopen each time I add a new glyph.
Good call, thanks! I’ll check it out.
Close and reopen each time a new glyph is added? Saving is fine but there isn’t a need to close and reopen each time.
