Does the select a master shortcut work?

I tried selecting masters in my font with the CMD+OPT+1… shortcut listed in the help and it doesn’t work. I only have two masters, so should I be using CMD+OPT+1 and CMD+OPT+2?

it its only cmd+1, cmd+2. Without the option key.
