Error exporting as a variable font

I have a font consisting of 6 masters and two axis (weight and width). It exports without an error message and as a standard otf/ttf, it works perfectly fine.
However when I export it as a variable font, the spacing as well as some glyphs distort.

This is an export as variable font (look at “dog” and “G”)

Thanks in advance, Roland

This is an export as standard ttf and the way it should look

Can you show how you set up your masters? What are the axis locations of each master?

Thanks for the quick response.
Every variant works fine except for the “black”.

the regular for comparison

Can you list just the master coordinates? As in:
Black 900, 100
Condensed Black 900, 50

Condensed Light 200,50
Light 200,100
Condensed Regular 400,50
Regular 400,100
Condensed Black 900,50
Black 900,100

Bold is only an interpolation.

Looks good. Do you have any hints set in your file? What Glyphs version are you using?

I’m working in Version: 3.1.2 (3151). I didn’t do any manual hinting so far.

Can you try with 3208:

Thanks, but still the same result

Can you please send me the .glyphs file to support (at) (this website without ‘www’ or ‘forum’). I will have a look.

Email is sent. Thank you in advance.

Cannot reproduce. It exports as it should in 3208:

At least I cannot spot a difference to the 6th master.

There are some setup issues in Font Info but they do not affect VF export.

After your response I tried it in InDesign an it worked. It seems the error only appears in Photoshop.
Thanks for the help and the comments in the mail.
