Feature suggestion: Filename Suffix

Hello,

I’m slowly becoming an enthusiast user of the “filename” custom parameter (mostly to add specific suffixes to instances, like FontNameBoldItalic _App .otf). For a complex project, with a lot of instances, I’m finding quite tedious to rename them one by one (especially since the family name changed during the lenght of the project): now, I know that I could easily do it with finder, but I would like to keep everything within glyphs for added flexibility. Would you consider a custom parameter that adds the provided suffix between the FontName and the export extension?

You mostly can do that already using tokens. Put this in the fileName parameter {{{familyName}}}{{{styleName}}}_App.
It will not remove the spaces if those name.

Thanks Georg, that sounds great! Are tokens documented somewhere? Could I write it differently to remove the spaces?

You can use whatever methods are defined on the instance object. We didn’t collect all of them, yet.

And right now, there is no way to remove the spaces.
