I was exporting some fonts without any value on x-height or CapHeight and I think I got some unexpected results. I need to understand how Glyphs deals with this situation.
When I have no x-Height on my file, after export I get the same value as the the Baseline.
Does this seem correct ?
If there’s no Cap Height, after export I get this -1 negative value. This doesn’t seem correct to me.
The x-height and cap height are technical requirements that are needed even when they do not apply to your design/writing system. Keep them and set them to a value so your font looks harmonious when typeset with other fonts.

I’m just curios if x-Height 0 and Cap Height -1 are the best values to apply.
Specially on Cap Height I would like to understand why the negative value.
I get 1 for cap height. I changed it to add a bit more reasonable defaults. Lets see if that is better.
@GeorgSeifert I didn’t understand. Will you change it for 1 on a next update, or are you getting 1 already with the current version (3436)?
