I have a letter C and a dotaccentcomb, both with correct anchors and no stray path in it. When I open the file in G3 all is well, when I open it in G4, the dotaccentcomb isn’t auto-aligned anymore. “enable auto alignment” does not get active. There is no override in the font info. Version 4.0.1 (4004)
It happens with all letters combining with dotaccentcomb. As soon as we delete dotaccentcomb, “create composite” works well with dotaccent, auto-alignment and auto-metrics as well, then.

The problem is the “_middle” anchor in the “dotaccent” glyph. There should only be one “underscore” anchor per glyph because it could create an ambiguous mark feature (e.g. if a base glyph has a “top” and a “middle” anchor, it could attach to the wrong anchor.
Ah. I didn’t know that! In Glyphs3 that was no problem, but we can deal with that. Thanks for your help!
It depends on the order of the anchors.
I actually changed it. All anchors are considered for component alignment now. And if there are two possible anchor pairs, the info box will show the anchor button to select the anchor to attach too. Will be in the next cutting edge version.
