Thank you! In this case it’s not editable though, I’m just swapping between what is being shown on the panel in this Show Angle and Distance plugin.
In case anyone else finds it useful, clicking the panel now switches between reporting the Distance between selected points and “Italic Width”. That width is 0 when something is aligned at the layer’s angle:
Which also means you can easily get the horizontal width of slanted stems and stuff:
