For scaling multiple glyphs at the same time or an entire font, is there a way to set the existing scale back to 100%, like you can do in the scale entry box at the bottom of a single glyph in the edit window. The transformation filter appears to always change the scale by the values entered, but if you don’t what the current scale is set at it would be difficult to get back to the original unaltered scale of 100%. Any advice would be appreciated-Thanks.
I assume you mean the scaling controls in the Transformations palette? The 
button applies the scale you entered, and the 
button reverses that scaling. I assume that is what you want.
I agree the labeling of the button is unfortunate, it should be more of an undo ↺ symbol instead of the minus, and a general scaling icon instead of the plus sign.
