can you send a screen shot of your edit view? Maybe in a private message if needed.
(And you can make screenshots directly my pressing Cmd+Shift+4 and then drag over the area you like to screenshot)
You might have selected the “select all layers” tool. Check if the first tool has one or two arrows in the toolbar.
Can you post a screenshot of the whole window (I’m mostly interested in the toolbar)?
