You can use the Higher-Order Interpolation (HOI) tool to adjust the path a node takes when interpolating between two layers.
Switch to the tool, select an axis in the bottom right corner of the window, and edit the paths along which nodes interpolate in Edit View. By default, the interpolation is linear. You can preview the resulting interpolation by using the sliders in the Axes Sidebar (left sidebar with the slider icon).
The updated handbook will have all the details, but that will take a few more days. Feel free to ask about anything.

I’ll wait for an update. I’d love to see some demonstrations of it in use.
