I get a damaged file message every time I try to launch Glyphs 4. I tried dragging the new license onto the Glyphs 4 icon on my desktop and I get the same message. I’ve re-downloaded the app multiple times, to different locations on my computer, same result.
That is most likely caused by the tool you use to unzip the downloaded file. Please use the default archive utility from macOS.
I’m double-clicking on it to expand the ZIP file.
can you right click the .zip and check what is shown in the “Open with” submenu?
Options are the default Archive Utility and another option of The Unarchiver.
I’ve tried downloading the ZIP file from Chrome as well as Safari, and on a colleague’s computer. Same message.
Downloaded from Firefox and it’s worked!
I spoke too soon. Now it’s not. : (
Do you have any “Cleanup” tools installed?
None that I am aware of.
What version of macOS is this?
Tahoe 26.5.2. I’m checking with the IT team at UBC as it might be something they’ve installed in the background.
IT says it’s due to a security feature they have running in the background of my machine. What are the system requirements for Glyphs 4? Glyphs 3 works perfectly on my machine so go figure.
Glyphs 4 requires macOS 12. Glyphs 3 runs on 10.12 (older versions even on 10.11)
I’m running Tahoe 26.5.2.
Can we do a screenshare call so you can see if you can see why it won’t install?
Can you tell what that security feature is?
According to UBC IT the only security feature on my computer is CISO, which they claim should not block the installation of Glyphs.
Do you mean CISCO? If not, do you have a link to that software?
