Hi, I’m working on a dusty font with many anchors and I can’t export it if the “remove overlap” export option is selected. I tried to remove overlap in few letters manually (command + r) and sometimes it works, but sometimes the program crashes too. My friend suggested that I switch off hinting in export options as well as disable subroutines in instances, but it helped only on a certain level (as now i can export without remove overlap, while before i couldn’t export under no circumstances). Here’s the preview:
With so many paths, the remove overlap filter is ‘overwhelmed’. And you normally don’t need it as there is nothing that overlaps.
Your friend is right about both. This font cannot be hinted. And disabling subroutines will make the export faster.
