Glyphs decomposing components for no reason

[3260]

Hello, I am working on a project where I noticed a Fontbakery warn that 91% of my glyphs were not composites. I suspected my own export plugin, but that was not the issue. Using the completely stock export dialogue, I am getting exports where even the most basic diacritics are decomposed. No transformed components, no nested components.

What is going on?

What kind of export?

Sorry, static TrueType. Only a few glyphs are not decomposed (Ldot, IJ, some others).

Sure that there are no overlapping elements? Otherwise you can try the Keep overlapping components parameter.

I’ll have another look, but I can’t imagine that there are overlaps in almost all my diacritics. 91% is a very, very high number of decomposed glyphs. Thanks for the pointer, in any case.

Cannot reproduce, can you send the file?

I tried with the Keep overlapping components parameter, but that didn’t change anything. Glyphs such as Aacute are decomposed, although there are no overlapping components. No open corners, nothing.

I sent you the file, to res@
Thanks!

Could you send files like this to support@? Then I can check them, too.

Forwarded, thanks for taking a look.

You need to set the accent glyph to export. It can’t keep components to glyphs that are not in the final font.

Ah! I didn’t realise they weren’t set to export. That makes perfect sense, thanks a lot!
