Glyphs for M1 and ipad

Hi there

I’ve read that since the new Mac got the M1 chip, softwares should work both on ipad and the Mac (because the ipad has the same chip)
Does it apply to Glyphs app?
If not, is there a plan to make an ipad version?

Adobe softwares got new ipad version, it feels good and proves that it can be possible and quiet useful environment for design.

Thank you :pray:t3:

Software from the iPad might work on the Mac but not the others way around. The difference between the two is not so much about the processor but about the application framework. The Mac uses ‘AppKit’ and the iPad uses ‘UIKit’. Apple ported UIKit to the Mac to be able to run iOS apps on the Mac, but the iPad doesn’t know anything about AppKit. And the environments is quite a bit different (multiple windows, global menu, no touch support on Mac).

So Mac apps can’t run on iPad. One would need to adjust a lot code and rewrite the UI completely (because of AppKit vs UIKit but more importantly because of touch support)

oh… ok then, I’ll keep with my Mac
Thank you for the informative reply
