What anchors should one use to make caroncomb
out of a rotated circumflexcomb
component or vice versa? I tried setting _top
and _bottom
in circumflexcomb
, which works as expected in Glyphs, but apparently it is not allowed to export. _top_1
and _top_2
don’t seem to be supported at all. How do you make your flipped carons + circumflexes?
It’s a bit annoying. But still easier to manage the “extra” _bottom anchor.
Isn’t it not good to have anchors in composite glyphs, the same way as combining paths and components?
It’s a bit annoying to keep them aligned. But still easier than the extra “_bottom” anchor (it would need to move up to fall on the x-height when rotated).
True, so I scripted positioning _bottom
to be flipped properly. It just seems like the logic should be similar to having top
and bottom
which work for flipped components, so just curious if there are technical reasons stopping it from exporting?
How I do it:
- Make a circumflexcomb with default anchors (Cmd-U).
- Create caroncomb and add a circumflexcomb component, flip it.
- Add default anchors (Cmd-U) to caroncomb.
