How can I stretch my letters horizontally by an equal amount for all Glyphs? I have looked at Transformations and Transform metrics, but it doesn’t seem to do it. Is there something in the right hand toolbar ‘Transformations’ which I can use?
Select the glyphs you want to transform, then use the right side hat with the transformation options to scale your glyphs.
Bear in mind that this only applies to the currently selected layers, you’ll need to do this for all masters.
Thanks, Sebastian. But I only wish to scale my glyphs horizontally, i.e. make them wider, not taller. So I don’t quite understand how. Further help is appreciated 
In the scale functions, both in the menu and the sidebar, the first field is for horizontal scaling, and the second is for vertical scaling.
In the Transformations Dialog, open the lock to enable separate scaling values for horizontal and vertical dimensions.
