Hi! I’m making a handwritten font and I drew all the characters in Adobe Illustrator.
Right now, I’m copying and pasting each glyph into Glyphs one by one, but my Illustrator file has about 100 characters on a single artboard.
Is there any way to import or paste all of them into Glyphs at once, without doing it manually for each glyph?
I’m a beginner, so I would really appreciate a detailed explanation if possible. Thank you!!!
If you manage to separate them in separate files (with artboards in Illustrator) named after the glyphs, e.g. A.svg, B.svg, exclam.svg, etc., then you can import them at once with File > Import > Outlines. Do make sure to select the target glyphs first.
But I guess the separating into individual files is a pain. Copying and pasting individual glyphs may be less trouble after all.
Like many others, I began drawing type-related forms in Adobe Illustrator. I quickly learned that it is more trouble than it is worth. I suggest copy-pasting what you have and then move on to drawing directly in Glyphs. You end up saving time and improving curve quality.
