Installing and Exporting on Word (Microsoft)

Hey there,

A am havin 2 problems with my fonts on a Microsoft Computer of a client. 1. He said the meta data was not right of the font. in my glyph i am pretty sure it is right but when i export it and check it on a online tool the meta data is wrong. why is that?
2. When he saves the word file the bold text gets exported as regular.

strange thing is, that on mac it work but on microsoft the kerning is gone and it does not export the bold.

has anybody had this problems? really thankful for any help

  1. What do you mean by meta data?
  2. Read the Make your font work in Windows Tutorial.

hello rainer, thank you for your answer.

In the first pictures you see my settings. and in the next pictures you see the meta info where the family name is added the “Book” and the Book cut is suddenly a Regular.

I have read the Make your font work in Windows Tutorial but i dont know what else to change in the file to make it work on a windos computer. the kerning is off and the bold cut gets lost when the client dsaves a pdf.

Why do you have your Bold instance linked to your Book instance, when you have a Regular instance? Thus is most likely cashing the unwanted behaviour.

Because in the design of the client they use book and bold. they want to use the fonts on their windowas computer, especially on word. to activate the bold cut they want to use the bold button in word, thats why i linked them. the field is empty to write in which cut you want to link. i think its what its made for or is it only possible to link regular cuts?

and this is the smaller problem, the big ones are the lost kerning and not able to export the bold.

Sebastian, you where right! It fixed the problems! thanks a lot

You can do it with Book but your client will have to choose Campus Sans Book in the Word menu, and NOT Campus Sans. The better option is to rename your Book to Regular. And export as variable font for making your kerning work.
