I think you need a verb there. Does this new function convert an existing/selected instance to a master?

Maybe in analogy to the above options, Add Master from this instance?

What happens if the instance has some glyphs with different interpolation values? Are these preserved in the new master?

It first does the same as ā€œGenerate instancesā€ and then add it as master.

Thanks Georg! I have been using this a lot already.

Just a small nag: The added instance does not get the correct Custom value (it is always set to 0).

I fixed the custom value.

The icing on the cake for this feature would be if it filled in the interpolated values of the Dimensions panel for the new master.
