Hi, I have a font that will be exported both static and variable.
4 masters, 2 axes (contrast + serif)
Serif axes goes from 100–320.
For some letters the inner serifs are supposed to pop out to their full length on the “Serif” axes at 210. The outer serifs will still move out on this axes until 320.
For the static exports I achieved this by scaling the completely flat inner corner from the 1. (sans serif) master to 300%.
Then at 210 it is at exactly the right length.
In OTVar it gradually moves out until 320, which is not what I want. The inner serifs are still tiny at 210.
What is happening here?
What would be a clever way to set this up? Alternating layers for all these glyphs is a ton of work…
