"It" in default instance Variable Style Name parameter leads to wrong italic flags

Hello, not sure whether this is intentional:

I have a family with long style names, which are (somewhat) shortened for VF exports. Using the Variable style names parameter, I set the instances to be called “It” instead of Italic. This generates a wrong STAT table, though, as well as a wrong name table (Regular instead of Italic, etc.).

Changing the variable style name to “Italic” instead of “It” makes the export work.

I thought setting “Italic” as the variable font setting name was already enough.

This is a separate Glyphs file for the italic VF, this is why this is important.

Shortening is not necessary at all in a VF style name.

Currently Glyphs needs to do some guess work to build the STAT table. You can help with the STAT custom parameters or use the STAT script in the mekkablue post production scripts, and take control of the STAT yourself. If you are doing something unusual I’d recommend the latter.
