I’ve been wondering – is there a way to keep the infor panel in one place? While scrolling through a text in search for, for example unlocked kerning pairs it keeps on moving along with the cursor which is quite annoying.
A custom script could solve that ?

What exactly do you want to achieve? Checking kern locks?
Yes, but this is not the case for this only. I know there is a script displaying all the unlocked pairs (but then still when trying to lock them all you need to get through all the pairs)
It just feels like have the possibility to control the panel could be useful
Bad argument for complicating the UI. Which other cases?
