I have a problem with a customer who uses the creo software (PTC), the kerning does not activate when using the font for engraving, even when activating on the software (WA, VA PA, etc…) would you know how I could fix this problem?
Can your customer provide an example font file where the kerning works? Have you considered that it might be a missing support for GPOS kerning (vs the old kern table)?
Thank you for your answer, my knowledge about GPOS is a bit weak, is it “Winascent” on glyphs ?
here is a list of fonts that works on the software, PTC doesn’t talk about custom fonts on its manuals
Just one more question and I’ll leave you alone, how to install a .py file and run it on Glyphs I’ve tried several times without success
I tried to open macros panel and paste the code from Kernflattener.py and after executing it, it created a new glyphs file, is it good ?
You can install the mekkablue scripts through the Plugin Manager. Then run them from Scripts > mekkablue. Or search the help menu for Kern Flattener.
Pasting the code to the macro panel works as well, but that’s much more complicated. Yes, it creates a new Glyphs file with all necessary changes made for you. Just export the files as normal (into a different folder!), then send those to your client.
