Line height problem

I’m creating a font of swashes and I’m curious to know how to get rid of all the additional space above the character once exported and used in AI. I have cap height, x-height and ascender all set to 200 in Glyphs but when I type in Illustrator there is a ton of top space which overlaps the text it’s supposed to go under so you can’t click on the text.
