I also actually just talked to an Apple rep and he said part of them getting the price down on the base model was reducing some of the processor in some aspect compared to last years model, but it wouldn’t be really noticeable in everyday tasks.
He did however recommend bumping up the processor to the next level option for +$100 which then makes it more noticeably powerful than the last 2019 Air processor.
