Hello, I would like to use Compare Fonts, which is a fantastic functionality. However, I can’t access the document, since the Compare Fonts window blocks the access. Would it be possible to keep Compare Fonts in the foreground, but only as a floating window, still allowing edits to the font?
The problem is that the compare fonts window can’t (easily) update when the fonts change. So instead of showing outdated data, I thought it would be better to make it modal. But that might not be the best solution.
I understand. Is there no possibility of forcing a refresh when a document is saved?
Also, is there a way of using the “Use Left/Right” option for changed layer outlines? As in, copy a layer from a different file? Currently, it seems only side bearings, kerning groups and kerning can be transferred.
That can be improved, for sure. I see what I can do.
Thanks a lot, that would be fantastic. The ability to visually diff and merge files is amazing.
Two more things:
- Would it be possible to also diff custom parameters? Currently, these changes are not shown. Font metadata is already possible, but not custom parameters (new/deleted/changed).
- Would it possible to remember the last selected master? I need to re-select the masters in both fonts every time I open the Compare Fonts window again (which, currently, I have to do a lot). Remembering the last selected master would already save a lot of time.
