I wanted to manually hint a glyph that includes a component too. I realized I had to manually hint the component source glyph too. OK. Now my question is: is autohinting disabled for all glyphs using a component that was manually hinted?

No. It should be possible to manually hit glyphs that are used as components.
not sure I understand… my question was: autohint (the one on export) will run on a glyph where I have some paths + 1 component but this component source was manually hinted (= autohint is disabled for the component’s source)?
