Is there any way to have the option for the measurement line to measure distance from outline to outline excluding the sidebearings?

The measurement tool (L or temporarily hold down Ctrl-Opt-Cmd) measures like that, also across multiple glyphs.
@RafalBuchner was working on a Measurement Line plug-in that would work like this.
You like to see the distance between the glyphs. Do you need to see it for all glyphs or would it be enough for some?
It would be useful to have it at least for the two glyphs on the left and right side of the cursor in Text Mode with the Measurement Line activated. I know that the measurement tool does this but you can’t use it in Text mode.
