measurement line doesn't go away after disabling

4.0

Used the measurement line tool, then deactivated it, but still shows up in text mode.

Can you check “View > Show Measurement Line”?

Can you enable and disable it? And what happens when you restart Glyphs?

I did all of that already, it stays the same.

Ah wait, I re-started the app again and it worked this time. But yeah, it does it again as soon as I re-use the measurement line.

What triggers the bug is the button, not the menu. After activated by the button, the menu doesn’t do anything.

What button do you mean?

This icon there, that’s the culprit

When I selected the Measurement tool, and then changed to the Hand tool, it disappeared (Show measurement line disabled from View menu).

Which is what I did. Yes it disappears when you go back to the hand tool. But then reappears when you go to the text tool.

Or an app restart.

I’m not sure if it’s the same issue. But switching from Measurement to Hand and then using the Text tool, keeps the measurement lines on. Sometimes they appear on the screen without even using the Measurement tool and the only way to disable them is to close/open the file.

I have had that problem but it only disappears on restart.

I can’t reproduce this.

Here is a video for a newly created file. Hopefully it helps to reproduce

it has nothing to do with the file. Can you try to start without plugins. Hold down the Option + Shift key when you start Glyphs.

same

I unfortunately have the same issue, but it doesn’t disappear when I restart Glyphs 4. No matter what, the ruler stays on screen (excepting selecting the Hand tool, but it comes back when the Hand tool is not selected anymore).

Second this, the line doesn’t disappear after toggling it on

It seems that I’ve found that triggers this issue (at least in my case) - aside from the case I’ve explained above.
Ctrl+alt+cmd M (update metrics for all masters).
In order this issue to appear you need a metric key that needs to be updated. If you press this shortcut when a metric key doesn’t need an update, nothing would happen. And then to switch it on/off you need to press Shift+cmd M (Show metrics). @GeorgSeifert any chance this could be back to normal behavior of the above mentioned shortcuts?
