When working in a file with images added for reference, an issue is occurring when the images are missing from their original file path. The interface in general bugs due to the dialogue box for the missing image not being displayed properly. This is also the case for missing images in layers of a glyph, where the application appears to freeze. Hitting return or escape solves the problem by dismissing the dialogue box but it’s been a source of much confusion for myself and a few others new to the software. This is on the Cutting Edge version.
