I’m having trouble exporting the Sheen glyph in a variable font file. It displays correctly in the OTF export, but not at all in the variable export. The Sheen glyph uses the Seen glyph as a component, and the Seen glyph exports fine in both formats.
We need more info to help: Your master setup. How the outlines look in Glyphs. What exactly do we looking at, and how should it look?
I have two masters for weight: Extra Bold and Hairline. he other two masters affect the counter forms of the letters, either opening or closing the counter, which, in the case of the Seen and Sheen glyphs, is not relevant. All the masters are compatible.
Where do you test this? Adobe app can have problems with nested components. can you check that the three dot glyph doesn’t contain components?
SOLVED! It was the dots, thank you!
It shouldn’t be necessary to decompose but some apps have problems with it.
Something unrelated: You might get nicer curves when you do the cut between letter at an angle (in this case maybe slightly slanted to the left).
Will test it out.
