# New Plugin: Magnifier Tool

I’ve released a magnifier tool plugin.  
It gives you a super-zoomed view of the area around your cursor, making it easy to check that your curves are smooth.  
Give it a try!

That looks great.

But I wonder why you need all those settings in the main window. I don’t think you will change them all to often. So either just use the settings from the app (to make it consistent with the edit view). I implemented it and send a pull request.

And why do you use a tool for this? You already implanted the updates for when your tool is not active. I changed that, too. And send a pull request, too.

Hi Georg,

Thank you so much for taking the time to review the plugin and for both pull requests!

You’re right: the window keeps updating even when the tool isn’t active, so a general plugin opened from the Window menu makes much more sense. The settings popover also keeps the window clean.

I made it a tool because having it in the toolbar makes it easy to find and open, but I see now that the Window menu is the right place for it.

I’ll give them a try this weekend.
