Noodler screwing up terminals at certain sizes

The Noodler filter, at certain size settings, creates a disconnected circle at the terminals of my open-contour skeleton. In this movie you can see it working at 31-37 (with an occasional overlapping node), but at 38 I get the weird circles on the terminals. At 39, that goes away, but at 40 through 43 it returns, then goes away at 44.
Of course for this design I need it to work at 41.

It’s a pretty complex path situation that happens after offset and that’s why the overlap removal sometimes fails. Either make tiny changes to the outlines (1 unit shifts may suffice), or separate the parts and apply the filter, then move the parts back together and remove overlap.
